We are not a church. We don't sell anything. We don't want your money. We simply exist to encourage you as the Lord has encouraged us.

As humans, we are always looking for something fun, tasty, and easily accessible to sink our spirit, emotions, and intellect into, but as we all know, the diets we sometimes choose are not good for us.
If we know that God is sovereign, do we just sit around and wait for Him to commandeer our lives and put us on His auto pilot all the time? NO. We still need to learn to fly the plane (life).
The wilderness in our lives can be a number of things, including a time of discomfort, a time of pain, a time uncertainty, a time of brokenness, or even a time of ‘new’. It can also be a time to grow in our faith. In any case, God will have our backs, just as the angels had Jesus’ back.
It’s time to dig deeper into our relationships with Jesus. Jesus is Lord of our lives as Christians. We don’t make other Christians our Lord. We don’t make the church our Lord. We don’t make our community our Lord. We don’t make the news and society our Lord. Nor do we make our family our Lord. It’s when we worship Jesus as Lord, that we can then have a positive influence on these other relationships (community, family).
If a person is forgiving someone based on their own strength, their emotions of the day, or on the temporary good behaviour of the other person, they will be let down the next time the forgiven party re-offends.
Why do some find living in the flesh easier than walking in the Spirit?
It might be because we view our temporary life here on earth from our human perspective that craves and most times caves into the flesh that we so often feed.
We are all following someone’s voice and it’s either the Shepherds voice or the voice of a stranger.
As Christians we should be keen to follow God’s voice, but do we recognize it when we hear it?
The enemy is after us whether we are saved or not!
He picks on the unsaved, so that they never accept Jesus. He picks on the saved, so they never give God praise, never tell others about the love of God, and never live the life God has called them to live.
Basically, what I understood was that I had to follow a bunch of rules for God to love me. I was never told in church that Jesus died and rose for ME. I was never told that God’s salvation through Christ is all about God’s grace and not by any works that I could do or any rules that I followed.
Can you imagine having so much that you can’t contain it all and instead of blessing others with the excess, you built larger barns to hoard even more?
No one knows what tomorrow brings. Only God does. He knows what we need today and what we will need for the future. This is NOT a prosperity message. It’s NOT a name it or claim it message. NOR is it a “God want’s me poor” message. IT’S A HEART MESSAGE!
Satan wants us to strive in our own strength. He wants us to be preoccupied and not focus on God. He wants us to put ‘self’ first. He wants us to burn-out, trying. He wants us to fail all the while dangling a carrot before us to try harder at being the best employee, the best spouse, the best parent, the best friend, the best church goer, and the best at everything, all at the same time.
Our time with God is on Sunday’s between 10:30am and 11:45am, on Monday through Friday between 6:45am and 7:00am during personal devotion time, and on Wednesdays between 7:00pm and 9:00pm for bible study/home group…and then that’s it. We’re pleased with ourselves and think we have ‘done good’ for having put in our time-quota and ticked off all the boxes of how a Christian life is described, or we just don’t see a place for Jesus during the rest of our week, nor see Him in places outside the walls of our churches or prayer closets. Instead, we carry on with “our” life as usual.
Conversations among Christians often circle the phrase “don’t be led by your emotions”, but the truth is, we are emotionally moved by the things of this world because God made us to have emotions. The question is are we compelled to react as the world would react or the way God would want us to react?
So, you are going along your Christian walk, loving God, serving others, praying, and hearing within your spirit, and then suddenly it happens – the ‘warm and fuzzies’ of the Holy Spirit disappear and you think you’ve been abandoned. You no longer feel, hear, or are emotionally aware of the Holy Spirit. I don’t know why this happens, but it does happen, and it’s at these times that we get discouraged.
We are each given a gift(s) to build up (edify, exhort, encourage) the body of Christ (other Christians). The gifts are used to serve others and not to bring glory to one’s self. Some gifts are used regularly, while others are granted by the Holy Spirit when the body needs them. Every believer is given a gift(s). The gifts of the Holy Spirit are still alive and well today because the body of Christ is still here!
#3 – When we renew our minds in the word of God, we learn more about the character of God and can more confidently recognize His voice and distinguish it from the voice of our minds, the worlds thoughts and opinions, and those thoughts that the enemy throws our way to confuse us.
#1 - Seek God First. The more we seek our Heavenly Father, the better we get to know Him and His will. Like in any strong, loving, and healthy relationship, we long to spend as much time as possible with that person. We get to know them so well that we begin to finish each other’s sentences and know exactly how they will react to a situation and what they will say. Imagine seeking God first in your life, so that you will know exactly how He will react to a situation, and what He will say to you.
Understanding why every TRUE Christian has the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit
The question is, do you really know what it is to be a TRUE Christian?
In order to have that kind of love for others, we need to love God wholeheartedly first. In order to love God wholeheartedly, we must understand how much He love us. He loves us enough that He sent His Son to die for us!
Romans 5:1-5. “Therefore, since we have been justified through
faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope.5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” NIV
If we believe that we are saved by faith, then we better start believing what God says about us!
We cannot define ourselves by our experiences. We have to define ourselves by what the word of God says about us.
